Crown Race Too Large? After a bit of research I found a neat little trick for setting a crown race that is just a bit too large to seat properly on the fork crown. Several bike forums mentioned a knurling tool that would basically gouge the metal at the base of the steer tube. The outer diameter of the crown race seat is effectively increased.
